Vision Church Worship Manual

The Sound of a People Who Know Their God

Our Worship Mission

Everything we do is worshiping God - or it is not. Music is not the main event; it is a tool for worshiping God. We do not see music as inferior to the Word, because our songs communicate the Word, the message, and the heart of God for the service.

We Must:

  • Create engagement with simple, theologically correct songs that are fun, exciting, and peaceful.
  • Use professional production with excellent voices, coordinated instruments, and strong visual appeal.
  • Bring attention to Christ in personally engaging ways that require action and response.
  • Worship belongs to Christ alone, and everything He created worships Him. So our song services are not for people, but they are designed to facilitate people worshiping Christ.

When Are We Successful?

  • When Jesus is the center of our gathering.
  • When people want more.
  • When people are engaged in worship, not spectating.
  • When the presence of God is self-evident.
  • When individual transformation is occurring.

Worship Music Philosophy

Vision Church worship is built on God's Presence, Impartation, and Growth. Every gathering is an act of faith. Every song is a declaration. Every moment is an invitation for God to move.

1. Magnifying the Greatness of God

Worship begins with revelation. We remind people who God is, what He has done, and why Jesus is the only way.

"Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable." - Psalm 145:3

Our songs must be understandable, theologically true, simple, and directed to God or about God.

2. Planning and the Holy Spirit

We plan with excellence and lead with flexibility. We prepare weeks in advance, but we always remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading.

3. Skill Matters to God

Excellence honors God. Skilled musicians remove distraction and help people worship freely.

4. Scripture + Sound

Our songs are rooted in Scripture and alive with the Spirit. We prefer a rock-genre sound that is bold, modern, and culturally relevant.

5. Motivating the Church

Worship leaders are spiritual motivators. We lead people to celebrate, respond, and encounter Jesus.

6. Secular Music

Secular music is not used in worship. Worship is holy and spiritually influential.

7. Our Preferences

We prefer celebratory, intimate, thoughtful, balanced, Spirit-led worship. We design with men in mind while remaining welcoming to all.
